What does "bilona method" mean?
Bilona is the traditional hand-churning method where curd (not cream) is churned bi-directionally using a wooden churner to extract makhan, which is then slow-heated to make ghee. It's the way our ancestors made it.
What cows do you use?
We use milk from happy, grass-fed Gir cows from Rajasthan, no hormones, no artificial insemination.
Why is your ghee grainy (danedar)?
That granular texture is the hallmark of authentic bilona ghee made from curd. It shows the ghee hasn't been over-processed and retains its traditional character.
Can I use it for cooking at high heat?
Absolutely. Ghee has a very high smoke point, making it perfect for frying, sautéing, baking, and even making sweets.
How should I store it?
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed! Use a clean, dry spoon each time.
How long does it last?
Pure ghee has a long shelf life up to 12 months when stored properly. The aroma and colour tell you it's fresh.
What are the health benefits?
Rich in vitamins A, E, K, and healthy fats. Supports digestion, boosts immunity, nourishes skin, and provides sustained energy.
