What does "bilona method" mean?
Bilona is the traditional hand-churning method where curd (not cream) is churned bi-directionally using a wooden churner to extract makhan, which is then slow-heated to make ghee. It's the way our ancestors made it.
What cows do you use?
We use milk from happy, grass-fed Gir cows from Rajasthan, no hormones, no artificial insemination.
Why is your ghee grainy (danedar)?
That granular texture is the hallmark of authentic bilona ghee made from curd. It shows the ghee hasn't been over-processed and retains its traditional character.
Can I use it for cooking at high heat?
Absolutely. Ghee has a very high smoke point, making it perfect for frying, sautéing, baking, and even making sweets.
How should I store it?
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed! Use a clean, dry spoon each time.
How long does it last?
Pure ghee has a long shelf life up to 12 months when stored properly. The aroma and colour tell you it's fresh.
What are the health benefits?
Rich in vitamins A, E, K, and healthy fats. Supports digestion, boosts immunity, nourishes skin, and provides sustained energy.
How is wood-pressed different from regular coconut oil?
Wood-pressing preserves the oil's lauric acid, antioxidants, and natural antimicrobial properties that refined oils lose through chemical processing.
Is this virgin coconut oil?
Our coconut oil is wood-pressed from sun-dried copra, retaining all natural nutrients. It's pure, unrefined, and chemical-free.
Why does it solidify in winter?
Pure coconut oil naturally solidifies below 24°C. This is completely normal. Gently warm the bottle to liquify; no nutrients are lost.
Can I use it for cooking and for hair/skin?
Yes! Our 100% pure coconut oil is edible-grade and safe for cooking, hair care, skin moisturising, oil pulling, and baby massage.
What coconuts do you use?
We source fresh coconuts from coastal regions, hand-select quality copra, and sun-dry naturally before wood-pressing.
Is it suitable for deep frying?
Absolutely. Coconut oil has a moderate-to-high smoke point and adds a subtle tropical flavour to dishes.
